A Moral Vote

There is no such thing as a moral vote, at least not on the basis of which voters are being shamed today. There are many people, including almost everyone on the left and many elites on the right (including Christians), who use the distasteful and ironically immoral tactic of shaming people over their vote as if their vote is immoral. It is one thing to attack a candidate or what they stand for. It is an unholy other to attack those supporting them over a hypocritical view of morality. While voting is not necessarily immoral, attacking a voter's moral intentions is, and especially when the motive of the voter is not known. But, the left and elitist right are such aligned today like they have never been before. Sadly, many on the right blindly follow this pack and seem to have accepted their construct - a construct that will be politically suicidal for us, and indefinitely so. We have bought into a trap set by the left and their media under the guise that our vote is immoral if the candidate is immoral. However, the only way a vote can be immoral is if it is cast with immoral intent, which can never be known by those who today are hypocritically and judgmentally accusing. After all, ironically, those accusing are supporting a candidate that at least is no less immoral, and in reality much worse. Before you conclude I am not addressing you, have you attempted in any way to even indirectly shame others for who they support politically? Do you post politically only opposed to Trump's personal immorality while ignoring Clinton's public corruption? Do you publicly proclaim your morality in voting over the immorality of others' votes?

Allow me to describe the trap set by the left that you might be stepping in. First, they, along with the elite right, shame voters on the right into advocating only for pure candidates – both pure ideologically and pure morally (which is a 100% impossibility), a standard that they blatantly violate themselves. Then after the candidate on the right is nominated that the left has fooled us into nominating (like McCain in 2008 and Romney in 2012), the left and their media henchmen drag up dirty laundry on only one candidate – the Republican – in order to show that he or she is actually immoral. Then the media and its sheep proceed to shame all of us for in any way supporting such an immoral candidate. The end result is inevitably, the party on the left always wins as it is exempted from the trap. They are never held to their own standard.

Unlike during the days of Richard Nixon’s resignation, the media today works for the establishment, not the people. The media is pro-government, and no longer the government watchdog that it is supposed to be. Our Founders recognized centralized government power to be the chief danger that should be avoided above all else. After all, that was the very thing they declared treasonous independence from in 1776 in order to form what we call America. That is why they penned the freedom of the press into the Constitution – so that the press would freely advocate for the people and against the government. Today’s media is doing the exact opposite by abusing that freedom at the expense of the people. And, ironically, this is the same media that preached to us that Bill Clinton’s sexual assaults were irrelevant to his ability to be President [probably because he is a Democrat]. I added that last emphasis to demonstrate how the rules by which they shame our candidates never apply to them or their candidates.

From here onward, when we refer to “the establishment”, we are referring to the government and its lapdog media. And, every member of the establishment is aligned with setting the above trap for all of us on the right. And, yes, we are that foolish as to step into their trap! There is a clear reason why approximately 70% of the country for the longest time believes we are heading in the wrong direction and public approval of government is less than 20%, but the establishment keeps getting reelected. That is because we are living in the trap of running our country the way the establishment wishes by electing the candidates that they manipulate us to approve. In fact, the 2016 election may be the final electoral chance for the people to have their way over the corrupt establishment. The establishment goals are out in the open and they are immoral with regards to suppressing the will of the American people, including borrowing from our children and grandchildren. 2016 is probably our last stand.

There are obvious reasons why the trap is immoral and not the vote itself. First, there are no pure candidates. That is because there are no pure people. Who among us has never said anything in the last 10 years that if made public could destroy our characters and reputations? There is no human being who fits that description, including you. This truth alone is why we must reject the trap. And, while we are on the subject of purity, there are also no candidates who are pure when it comes to conservative ideology either. The bottom line is that there does not exist a single person on the planet who meets the standard that the media and the left fool us into thereby subscribing. That is the obvious reason why it is a trap that must be defeated. Public corruption should always carry far more weight than personal, even private indiscretion.

Do you remember what the left and the media did to Mitt Romney in 2012 in spite of the backdrop of Obama's corruption? While Romney was not my first candidate of choice, he was a good one. And, when I say he was good, I mean that based upon both morals and qualifications. In fact, even though he too is immoral, Romney is probably the most moral candidate I can recall in my memory. But, look what they did to his character just four years ago. They led us to believe that he killed his dog by tying him to the roof of his car. They led us to believe that he never paid taxes. They led us to believe that he let his employees die by denying them health insurance. They led us to believe that he was sexist over insisting upon a “binder of women” resumes to fill an executive position. By the time Election Day arrived, Romney was a "monster". If they can do that to Romney, they can do that to anybody, including Mike Pence, Ted Cruz and Mike Huckabee.

The second flaw in the trap is one that Christians are most foolish for thereto subscribing. This flaw is that your vote is immoral if the person you are voting for is immoral. Of most importance, God determines morality of a personal vote, not man. To that point, you won’t find a single prognosticator of voting for moral candidates who cites a single verse in the Bible that so directly instructs. That is because the Bible does not support their preaching. Since everyone is immoral, the trap only encourages non-voting by Christians. How sad is that? That is not being salt and light in the political arena. The truth is that nobody’s vote is a reflection upon them morally unless their motives are in fact immoral. The voter gets to decide that, not the left and not you. Their vote and support is between them and God, just like the vote of leftists. Moral people can have moral reasons to vote for immoral candidates (and, remember, every candidate is and will always be immoral on this side of eternity). In 1980 Ronald Reagan was far less moral than Jimmy Carter. And, Ronald Reagan was not a pure conservative either. In fact, Ronald Reagan’s policies would not meet the litmus test of the so-called elite pundits that are trashing Trump’s platform today. But, thank God both these pundits and our parents supported Reagan over Carter. The opposite would have been a disaster. Did Christians then have a moral reason to vote for an immoral candidate? Yes. A vote is not an endorsement of the candidate’s morality.

The main reason why this trap is foolish for Christians is because the Bible records God’s support for several pagan kings that ultimately and overtly served God’s purposes. And God implored through his prophets that the people support these pagan kings. A short list of such ungodly kings includes Nebuchadnezzar, Darius, Artaxerxes and Cyrus, just to name a few. In Jeremiah 27:12-15, Jeremiah even pleaded with his Israeli brothers to surrender to the pagan Nebuchadnezzar because this was right as God had raised up this immoral king for certain moral purposes. He even did so against the prophecies of all of the other “prophets.” And, we know from the life of Nebuchadnezzar that later Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego all worked miracles before the king resulting in the king’s end-of-life profession in Daniel 4:37, “Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and extol and honor the King of heaven, for all his works are right and his ways are just; and those who walk in pride he is able to humble.” And, it was the pagan king Artaxerxes who enabled Nehemiah to rebuild the very walls that Nebuchadnezzar and others had destroyed as recorded in the book of Nehemiah. And, of Cyrus, who ultimately rebuilt Jerusalem, the Bible records in Isaiah 45:1-4, “Thus says the Lord to his anointed, to Cyrus, whose right hand I have grasped, to subdue nations before him and to loose the belts of kings, to open doors before him that gates may not be closed: I will go before you and level the exalted places, I will break in pieces the doors of bronze and cut through the bars of iron, I will give you the treasures of darkness and the hoards in secret places, that you may know that it is I, the Lord, the God of Israel, who call you by your name. For the sake of my servant Jacob, and Israel my chosen, I call you by your name, I name you, though you do not know me.” And, before we leave the subject, even the kings of Israel were highly immoral, including David and Solomon. If David were on the ballot today, would Christians protest against his immorality? Before you quickly answer that question, remember that David was a public adulterer, sexual assaulter, murderer, horrible father, and in his older years slept with a young virgin girl to keep him warm. Okay, now answer the question. Then, recall how God answered the question.

There is today an unholy alliance and union between the media and the Democrat party. And, they are working together as the establishment (along with establishment Republicans) against the will and freedoms of the people - against the morality of self-government. They represent a government that promises tyranny. And, as long as people on the right are willing to live with and fall into their trap, they will continue to set it for us and the hypocritically immoral will win every election as far as the eye can see. They will destroy us from within. This unholy alliance is what must be defeated at almost all cost. Given the destruction of our nation that Obama has wrought in eight short years, if in hindsight you could have voted for an immoral Republican if you knew we would be better off, wouldn’t you? At the rate the establishment has shredded our moral fiber in 8 short years, imagine the evil that the establishment will wrought under Clinton in 8 more. Is there a more moral political fight than to oppose this today?

In conclusion, the moral vote is the vote that is led by the Holy Spirit, not the vote that is led by the left and its media bent upon shaming us into aiding their corrupt and criminal advocate for tyranny. Voting for the people over a wicked establishment is entirely moral, regardless of the personal morality of the standard bearer.
