While our elected officials boycotted a speech before Congress by Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu, they have been actively negotiating with Iran to allow them to make material for nuclear weapons. While ISIS is on a virtually unopposed march of genocidal holocaust across the Middle East, our government is actively helping arm Iran, a country Hell-bent on the professed and unapologetic destruction of Israel. While Hamas was hurling thousands of military missiles into crowded Israeli neighborhoods, our government lectured Israel to exercise restraint. While our government disrespects and refuses to meet with our most ardent and time-honored allies in the region, she coddles our Islamic foes. While Islamic Jihadis behead Christians in mass and posts the videos on YouTube, our leaders chastise Christians to be quiet. While women and homosexuals suffer under the oppressive laws of Sharia in almost every Muslim country, our government treats peaceful Christian sentiments as a threat to be silenced at home. While our government is actively denying religious freedoms of those who disagree, our government is Hell-bent on making national sacraments of “gay marriage” and abortion. We have turned our backs on God and Israel. How this story ends we already know. Regardless, it is astounding to see how morally blind America and her leaders have become.
Our leadership encouraged and applauded the “Arab Spring” which replaced dictators in countries that were working with America, with leaders bent on terrorism. Our government played defender of these coups as “non-religious” even though the facts and aftermath screamed the opposite. We foolishly pulled our troops out of Iraq, which America has never done in the wake of significant victory. And, this void of leadership led to ISIS filling that void just as predicted by those who opposed the withdrawal as politically shallow. For the past several years our government has constantly opposed our only remaining staunch ally in the region, Israel. And, now in the face of a new and modern Holocaust of Christians and Jews in the region by ISIS, we lack moral leadership. Instead our leaders resort to deceiving our citizens into believing ISIS was like a “JV” team in order to mask their failed policy decision to withdraw our troops in unprecedented fashion. And, unlike the genocide of World War II, today’s religious genocide is met with little-to-no leadership from the West. Instead, our State Department tweets a Muslim cleric who blames Middle East unrest on Israel. America, what have you become?
In light of all of the above, I must ask some tough questions. Why are we willing to negotiate with Iran but not meet with Israel? Why would we negotiate with Iran, but not with Americans of another political stripe? Why would we negotiate with Iran…period! Iran is the single most destabilizing enabler of terrorism throughout the region and the world. When has Iran ever earned any level of trust? And, what has Israel done to deserve our distrust?
In case you are wondering, these days were prophesied even as early as the prophet who wrote in Zechariah 12:3, “On that day I will make Jerusalem a heavy stone for all the peoples. All who lift it will surely hurt themselves. And all the nations of the earth will gather against it.” And, Ezekiel 38 elaborates further. The fulfillment of these prophecies today further supports the Bible as true. Once Europe and America’s backs are turned, Israel will stand alone. And, how will you respond?
The defense of Israel comes with a prophetic promise, just as the opposition of Israel comes with a prophetic curse. And, both the promise and the curse come directly from God Himself. The first time this is explicitly mentioned is Genesis 12:3, “I will bless those who bless you, and him who dishonors you I will curse, and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.” Wake up Americans! Will you join me in standing with Israel at all cost? Are you willing to obey God over men? Will you fervently pray for Israel? Prayer is the least we can do to defend Israel. And prayer is also the most we can do. We know that when we pray for Israel, we are praying in God’s will and are aligned with God’s intent. And, Jesus told us in Mark 11:24, “Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.” Well then, pray we must. Pray for Israel!
In closing, from the Genesis 12:3 passage comes a third prophetic promise which is our command for times such as these. God promised that through Israel, “all the families of the earth shall be blessed.” That blessing came through the coming of Jesus Christ, His death and resurrection. In light of these likely being our final hours, honor God by being the fulfillment of His prophecy. Share the free love and mercy of Jesus Christ with as many families as you can. After all, what can be more of a blessing than being offered the love of God?
